1) ET

Is that an extra terrestrial ransacking your fridge or is it just your sister?
Set in the 80s, E.T is considered one of the greatest films of all time. It ia about an alien (shocker) who gets stranded on Earth after the rest of its crew leave. Alone, the alien befriends Elliott, and the two immediately establish a bond. The story is about E.T (Elliott names him) trying to find his way back home with the help of Elliott, but also whilst trying to hide from government officials that seek to interrogate and study him. Score by John Williams, this is a real 80s classic.
2) Jurassic Park

A classic. Honestly if you haven't seen this film by now I have to ask what you've been doing with your life. Jurassic Park is my favourite Spielberg film - actually, its just my favourite film ever.
Set on an island off the coast of Costa Rica, John Hammond, a billionaire, has employed a team of genetic scientists to help bring dinosaurs back from extinction so that he can display them at his theme park. The team are successful in doing so and the park is ready to be opened, however before it is, John runs a test tour in oder to please his investors and show them that the park is not harmful. John invites Dr. Alan Grant and his parter Dr. Ellie Satler, archeologists who've studied dinosaurs all their life, as well as Dr. Malcom, a witty, chaos-theorist to inspect the park. John's grandchildren are also in attendance for the tour.
A tropical storm hits the island, sending the park into all different manners of mayhem - such as the electric fences shutting off. Soon, Dr. Grant and Dr. Satler are fighting for their survival against the 65 million year old predators.
3) Jaws

Na-Na.
Na-Na.
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na....
...You get the picture. If you haven't seen this iconic film, the I guarantee you've heard it's soundtrack. The film surrounds three men as they hunt down a great white shark that has been snacking on the locals of their town - police chief Martin Brody, marine biologist Matt Hooper and professional shark hunter Quint. The film remains iconic till this day, receiving three Academy Awards for best film editing, best original score and best sound. Some critics say that it is the greatest film of all time.
4) Raiders of the Lost Ark

Ready for an adventure? Before we had Keeping Up With The Kardashians, we had Keeping Up With The Jones's, and Raiders of the Lost Ark is by far the greatest Indiana Jones adventure.
Set in 1936, Raiders of the Lost Ark follows to story of Indiana Jones, an archeologist and history lecturer, on his travels across the globe. Jones is trying to discover the lost Ark of the Covenant, a relic that is rumoured to make an army invincible, before the Nazi's get it first.
An excellent watch and childhood classic. One of the best action/adventure series's of all time.
5) Poltergeist

I will never look at small, blonde-haired children the same way again after watching this film. It look my mum three years to finally convince me to watch it -- but I did -- and I have to say it was exactly as I expected it to be - quality entertainment.
Set in a small suburban town in the 80s, Poltergeist is about one family and their desperate attempts to fight off the ghost that wants them gone. After a series of strange yet fascinating events, the youngest daughter vanishes into thin air. Worried sick, her parents then soon begin to piece together who has taken their daughter - and why. Considered one of the best thriller films of all time, Poltergeist certainly loves up to its reputation.
